New Principal at LHS

Lorena ISD is proud to announce that Colt Clemens has been named the new Principal at Lorena High School. Clemens comes to Lorena from Kaufman High School where he has been the Associate Principal of Curriculum and Instruction since 2019. “I am excited to join this amazing family,” Clemens said. “I am thankful for this amazing opportunity, and I am excited to get to work.”  Under Clemens Kaufman High School achieved its first ever “A” rating from TEA in the 2021-2022 school year.

Clemens has 6 years of administrative experience and has spent 15 years in education. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Texas A&M University.

In addition to Kaufman ISD, Clemens has also worked in Kemp ISD, Forney ISD and Mesquite ISD serving in both administrative and teaching positions. He was named the Forney ISD Secondary Teacher of the Year for the 2013-2014 school year.

Clemens has been married to wife, Alyssa, for 14 years. The couple have two children, a five year old son Ryder, and a 5 month old daughter Avyn.

Clemens will succeed current Lorena High School Principal Kevin Johnson who was named Lorena ISD Athletic Director/Head Football coach earlier this year.
