Rambo Named Lorena High School Principal

Lorena ISD is pleased to announce Matt Rambo has been named the new Principal at Lorena High School. Rambo is coming to Lorena ISD from the Waco Independent School District where he has been the Dean of the Greater Waco Advanced Healthcare Academy since 2022. Rambo has worked in Waco ISD for the last 15 years. “I am honored to join the Lorena High School family and look forward to collaborating with students, families, staff, and the school community,” Rambo said. “I look forward to honoring the long-standing traditions in Lorena and hope to serve our community as we partner together to do the important work of supporting the growth of our next generation.”

Prior to becoming the Dean of the Greater Waco Advanced Healthcare Academy, Rambo spent three years as the Principal at Tennyson Middle School. He was the Dean of the ATLAS Academy at Tennyson Middle School from 2016 to 2019 where he was responsible for Waco ISD’s Middle School Gifted and Talented Program.

During his time in Waco ISD Rambo also served as an Assistant Principal at Tennyson Middle School, a Secondary Science Content Specialist, and was Waco High’s Science Department Head, teaching Aquatic Science, Pre AP and AP Biology. “This varied background has developed my instructional leadership, student services, and operational strengths,” Rambo said. “Most importantly, my experience has solidified my resolve that I love nothing more than to be around students and teachers and to do everything I can to make our experiences memorable and positive.”

Rambo and his wife Haily have a daughter Evelyn and a son Owen.
