LHS Among Best High Schools

Lorena High School has been ranked among the 2025-2026 Best High Schools by U.S News & World Report. The rankings evaluate nearly 24,000 schools at the national, state and local level, with nearly 18,000 ranked.

LHS also received a score of 96 for the last two school years in the Texas Education Agency’s A-F Accountability Ratings.

Lorena High School is receiving recognition Statewide and on the national stage US News and World Report has designated LHS a best high school which puts the school among the best high schools in the nation of the nearly 18,000 schools that were ranked I think it reflects the hard work of everybody involved um we have some great kids here and we have great staff uh great community and and uh it's it's good to see that that hard work is being recognized the high school's US News and World Report national ranking was 3,056 and 296 in the state of Texas High marks for LHS also came from the Texas Education agencies a through F accountability rate reports for the last 2 school years were recently released and the campus had a 96 for both school years that's important uh because uh I think a lot of people don't realize we have 98 high schools in the region 12 the region here in McLennan County a little bit of Falls County uh Bell County there's this region it has 98 high schools out of all of those we have the highest score um and that's a big deal 1 of the things that is a real big number for me not only that where the top about a 98 schools but 100% of our kids graduate ready for college or a career or to join the military uh and and that's not normal um most schools here have uh the top schools have in the 70s ladies 80% of their students are graduating that way 100% 100% of our kids graduate and 100% graduate ready for college career or the military Lorena High School is adding to LISD tradition of Excellence with these impressive accomplishments but the school is still looking to help students grow even our highest Achievers that are you know doing great in AP AP courses and blowing the EOC out of the water they still have to grow in different areas and it's not all about scores either you know I mean we're talking about those those uh social interactions we're talking about Athletics we're talking about Fine Arts all of these different areas um that that our kids are very successful in there's still room to grow and and if you take that approach in a in a in a lifelong learner approach uh you're going to go far in life uh and that that's our goal my My ultimate goal yeah these scores are important every kid that graduates from here is equipped to have a healthy successful career life ahead of them
