Seven Lorena Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) members competed in the State Competition in Dallas.
Jessica Truong won first place in the Leadership category. Bethany Ryan and Megan Vrana competed together in the Public Policy Advocate category and placed second. Truong, Ryan, and Vrana all advanced to the National Competition in Washington D.C. this summer. This is the third time Ryan has qualified for the National Competition. Vrana has been to the National Contest twice. Truong will be making her first trip to the National Competition.
In addition to advancing to the National Competition Vrana was the recipient of two FCCLA scholarships, the WeHelpTwo Scholarship, and the FCCLA HEB Scholarship.
At the State Contest Brooklynn West and Molly Vrana won fourth place in the Chapter Service Project Portfolio category. Ben Hoover and Emma Richardson also advanced from the Regional competition to State. Hoover competed in the Teach or Train category. Richardson competed in the Texas Cupcake Presentation.
