On April 22, 2026 the Lorena ISD school board met to discuss applicants for Lorena ISD’s next Superintendent of Schools. At the conclusion of the meeting, no action was taken, as the board plans to continue its evaluation this month and keep you informed as updates become available.

All seven trustees remain united in their responsibility to select the next superintendent for Lorena ISD and each board member is committed to getting it right.

The board continues to be guided by community feedback throughout this search process.

Lorena ISD has been well served by strong, stable leadership from its superintendents. Dr. Talbert and Dr. Kucera each dedicated more than a decade to this district, and their impact is evident across our schools and community. With that in mind, the board is approaching this decision with the same long-term perspective—seeking a leader who will serve and grow with Lorena ISD for years to come.
